Allocations

Allocations provide methods for distributing amounts within Sage Intacct. There are two primary types: transaction allocations and dynamic account allocations.

Why it matters

Accountants and controllers use allocations to automate the distribution of financial data, ensuring accurate reporting and efficient processes, particularly when dealing with complex organizational structures or multi-currency environments.

When you use it

  • Sage Intacct offers two methods for allocating funds: transaction allocations and dynamic account allocations.
  • Transaction allocations can be applied to bills, invoices, or journal entries, distributing amounts across entire transactions or individual line items.
  • Account (dynamic) allocation groups allow you to efficiently process multiple allocations running at the same interval.
  • An Account Allocation Log lets you monitor the status of allocations in progress or completed.
