Reporting Periods

Reporting periods define calendar intervals used for financial reporting and other processes within Sage Intacct, such as budgeting or closing periods.

Why it matters

Accountants and controllers should understand reporting periods because they are essential for creating consistent and repeatable reports. They allow for date-driven reporting that mirrors common calendar periods or can be customized to specific business needs.

When you use it

  • Reporting periods are used in multiple Sage Intacct applications, including reporting, budgeting, and opening/closing periods.
  • Standard system reporting periods include options like monthly, quarterly, yearly, weekly, inception, and fiscal periods.
  • You can add standard reporting periods to both new and existing reports via Interactive Custom Reports (ICRW).
  • Reporting periods can be added or removed from reports using prompts.
